Enugu – The 2023 Igbo Day Public Lecture is to be chaired by Nigeria’s former Minister of Power, Professor Bart Nnaji, according to Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The event, scheduled for Thursday, September 28, aims to cultivate unity among the intellectual and entrepreneurial talents within Ndigbo in Nigeria.

Prof. Nnaji, renowned as a global engineering scholar during his time in the United States before returning to Nigeria to found Geometric Power Group, has been a key advocate for substantial investments in the local economy to drive growth and provide economic and business opportunities.

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu while announcing Nnaji as the event’s chairman stated that his appointment is based on, “Your sterling qualities, as a distinguished scholar with an immaculate track record of global scientific research, patriotism, and love for the Igbo nation.”

With the theme “Igbo Kunie!,” the 2023 Igbo Day Public Lecture is expected to be transformational, unlocking the extraordinary potential within the Igbo nation. Visionary leaders will gather to celebrate Igbo heritage and contribute to the journey towards a brighter future for Ndigbo and the rest of Nigeria.

The event will take place on Thursday, September 28, at the Old Governor’s Lodge in GRA Enugu. The distinguished Public Lecture will be delivered by His Lordship, Professor Godfrey lgwebuike Onah, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese. Prior to his return to Nigeria eight years ago, Bishop Onah served as the Deputy Rector of the Pontifical University in Rome and is known for his remarkable oratory skills. GMTNews
