Labour Party candidate Osita Eze has emerged victorious in a run off election for Oji River State Constituency. He polled a cumulative 7961 votes to defeat his rival of the PDP who garnered 7028 votes.

The Labour Party candidate, apparently a green horn that was never known in politics, defeated Mr Geoffrey Mbah, a former Chairman of Oji River Local Government Council, and the incumbent member representing Oji River State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly.

At the run off election held today at Oji Urban Ward 2, Polling unit 001, Geoff Mbah polled a total of 118 votes while Osita scored 108 votes.

Labour Party was leading in the state assembly election of Saturday, March 18, 2023 by 7853 votes to PDP’s 6910. The result of election at polling unit 001oji urban 2 was cancelled due to alleged over voting by 4 votes.

With this victory, Labour Party will command a clear majority with 14 members in the 10th State Assembly while PDP will have 10 members. GMTNews
