Sir Kelvin Chukwu (KSJi), a successful business man, is the Senator elect for Enugu East Senatorial District of Enugu State. Kelvin, elected on the platform of Labour Party, polled 69,136 votes to beat former two terms governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, who got 48,701 in the March 18, 2023, rescheduled senatorial election. The election which would have held on February 25, 2023 was rescheduled by INEC due to the gruesome assassination on February 22, 2023, of Barr Oyibo Chukwu, Labour Party candidate for the election in the zone.
Senator elect Kelvin Chukwu, was born in 1972 to the family of the late Chief Gilbert Onyia Chukwu of Amurri in Nkanu-West Local Government Area, Enugu-East Senatorial District of Enugu State.
He is the 4th son of the monogamous family in which the assassinated Elder Barr Oyibo Chukwu is the first child from the same womb of Chief Mrs Rose Chukwu.
Kelvin Chukwu (KSJI), attended Ezza Road Primary School, and Nnodo Boys’ Secondary School both in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. He later proceeded to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu where he obtained an HND certificate in Mass Communications. Sir Chukwu is also a graduate of law from Ebonyi State University Abakaliki.
As a successful business man, Kelvin Chukwu is into Real Estate Management and Property Development. He is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clanchedra Services, a mining and stone crushing industry in Abakaliki Ebonyi State.
He is a devout Christian and a member of the Ancient Order of Knight of Saint Johns International. Sir Kelvin Chukwu is married and blessed with three beautiful children.
