She is a minor and needs to attain a reputable career in life…
A new Cameroonian Sultan, His Royal Highness Nabil Mbombo Njoya, of Bamoun has offered to cater for a 14-year-old girl’s education to whom he was supposed to get married.
HRH Nabil Mbombo Njoya refused to marry the 14-year-old girl offered to him for marriage, saying she is a minor and needs to be in school studying to attain a respectable career in her life. He offers to pay for her education.
In Bamoun Cameroon, to end traditional procedures known as “Lah-Kam,” a new Sultan’s wife must come from the Njim Monchouh line, according to custom.
However, Sultan Njoya turned down the family’s offer of the 14-year-old girl, because she was a child, preferring instead to marry his long-term girlfriend. (Monitored)
