The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB has made an official statement since the re-arrest of the group’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu By the Nigerian Government early this week, alleging he was kidnapped.

In a release dated 30th June, 2021, obtained by GMTNews, online entitled “Memo To IPOB Family on The Abduction of Our Leader” and signed by one Mazi Chika Emeziem, Head of Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, the group said it “wish to inform IPOB families worldwide of the abduction of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by the Nigerian government working in evil alliance with an East African Country.”

The memo which did not mention the name of the East African Country, instructed the members to remain focused on the fundamental objectives which the organization stood for, and urged them to remain focused and disciplined so as not to fail in their assigned duties.

It further said the leadership would provide updates on the kidnap (sic) of Kanu, as well as “other pertinent information to the IPOB family worldwide and to the International Community…”

“The Directorate hereby direct all IPOB family members to remain focused on our fundamental objective which is a Free, Sovereign Independent Biafran Nation. While waiting for further directives from the Directorate of State, we must guard against any form of distraction or indiscipline creeping in to taint the duties assigned to us individually and collectively by our leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“The leadership will provide updates on Onyendu’s kidnap as well as other pertinent information to the IPOB worldwide family and to the International Community as these become available.” The memo concluded.
