Nkanu West Chairman, John Chukwuma Ogbodo, has sent Season’s Greetings to residents, indigenes, and friends of the council area, describing the festive period as a moment for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to community development under Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.
In the message shared via his verified social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), Ogbodo wished residents a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2026, noting that the visible progress in Nkanu West remains a product of synergy between the local government and the Enugu State Government led by Governor Peter Mbah.
According to him, the governor’s reform-driven leadership has created an enabling environment for grassroots development, particularly in infrastructure, social services, and community-based empowerment initiatives across Nkanu West.
“The steady progress we are witnessing in Nkanu West is not accidental. It is tied to the clarity of purpose and execution-focused leadership of Governor Peter Mbah, whose vision continues to cascade to the grassroots,” Ogbodo said.
Beyond the goodwill message, the Chairman also marked the season by extending Christmas gifts to his aides, members of the local government’s top management, selected staff, and key stakeholders, a gesture described by observers as reinforcing internal cohesion and morale within the council system.
Community stakeholders have welcomed the message and the outreach. Chief Emmanuel Edeh, a community leader in Nkanu West, said the Chairman’s approach reflects “a leadership style that combines governance with empathy,” adding that such gestures strengthen trust between leaders and the people.
Similarly, Mrs. Nkiru Ugwu, a civil society advocate, noted that linking festive messages to governance outcomes helps citizens better appreciate the relationship between policy direction at the state level and tangible results in Nkanu West.
“When local leaders clearly situate their achievements within the wider vision of the state, it deepens public understanding and accountability,” she said.
A youth leader in the area, Mr Sunday Chinedu Onovo, also praised the emphasis on unity and participation, stressing that young people in Nkanu West are increasingly aligning with development-oriented governance encouraged by Governor Mbah’s administration.
In his message, Ogbodo urged residents to sustain peace, support one another, and remain actively involved in community initiatives, stressing that inclusive development in Nkanu West depends on collective responsibility and civic engagement.
As the festive season draws to a close, the Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Enugu State Government to ensure that development initiatives continue to reach all communities in Nkanu West, in line with Governor Peter Mbah’s broader vision for a productive and prosperous Enugu State.
