Sani, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will contest alongside Jerry Adams, whom he named as his running mate for the 2027 race.
Reports indicate that several prominent candidates have emerged across opposition parties, including Isa Ashiru of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bawa Usman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammad Jamilu of the Accord Party and Adamu Ahmed of the Action Alliance (AA).
Others identified include Tukur Rabiu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Idris Adamu of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Aminu Abdulfatah of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Auwal Tafoki of the Labour Party (LP).
However, the complete identities of all candidates and their deputy governorship candidates are expected to become clearer as the INEC publication process is concluded.
The Kaduna State chapter of INEC had earlier appealed for patience, assuring journalists and members of the public that the full details would be made available as the publication process progressed.
