NiMet Forecasts 3-Day Sunshine, Hazy Conditions Nationwide

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast widespread sunshine and hazy conditions across Nigeria from Sunday to Tuesday.
In a weather outlook released on Saturday in Abuja, NiMet said the northern region would experience predominantly sunny conditions throughout the three-day period, while hazy atmospheric conditions would prevail over parts of the North-Central states.
The agency also predicted localised morning thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states on Sunday.
According to NiMet, isolated thunderstorms are expected later in the day across Rivers, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states.
For Monday, the forecast indicates continued sunshine across the northern region, with hazy conditions persisting in the North-Central zone. Southern states are expected to witness cloudy skies in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms later in the day.
NiMet said the pattern would continue on Tuesday, with sunshine and haziness expected in the northern and North-Central regions, while the southern states would experience morning cloudiness and isolated thunderstorms with moderate rainfall later in the day.
The agency advised residents, particularly those with respiratory conditions, to take necessary precautions as dust particles remain suspended in the atmosphere.
Motorists were urged to drive with caution during rainfall, while airline operators were advised to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet for effective flight planning.
