The Tinubu Maiduguri visit commenced on Saturday as President Bola Tinubu arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to inaugurate key development projects and attend a high-profile wedding ceremony.

The president’s aircraft touched down at the General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri, at about 12:55 p.m., marking the official start of the Tinubu Maiduguri visit to the North-East.

On arrival, President Tinubu was received by Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, alongside other senior government officials.

As part of the Tinubu Maiduguri visit, the president shortly after arrival inaugurated the newly constructed extension and VIP wing of the Maiduguri airport. The upgraded facilities are expected to strengthen air transport operations, enhance passenger handling and improve overall aviation services in the state.

The president is also scheduled, during the Tinubu Maiduguri visit, to inaugurate other landmark projects executed by the Borno State Government, particularly in the transport and education sectors, as part of ongoing development efforts in the region.

Beyond official engagements, the Tinubu Maiduguri visit also includes a social event, as the president is billed to attend the Nikkah and marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor and Senator, Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.

Following the conclusion of activities in Maiduguri, Tinubu is expected to proceed to Bauchi State. According to the itinerary of the Tinubu Maiduguri visit, the president will condole with the Bauchi State Government and the family of the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
