The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has released a total of N2.094 trillion revenue for October to the Federal Government, state governments and Local Government Councils (LGCs). The revenue distribution was confirmed in a communiqué issued after the committee’s November meeting held in Abuja.

According to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, the revenue shared for the month consists of N1.376 trillion statutory inflows, N670.303 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N47.870 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

FAAC disclosed that overall gross revenue available in October stood at N2.934 trillion, from which N115.278 billion was deducted as the cost of collection, while N724.603 billion went to various transfers, interventions and savings.

The communiqué noted that gross statutory revenue of N2.164 trillion was recorded in October, marking an increase of N36.832 billion compared to the N2.128 trillion received in September. However, VAT inflows dropped to N719.827 billion, down by N152.803 billion from the previous month.

From the total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received N758.405 billion, while state governments received N689.120 billion. Local Government Councils got N505.803 billion, and N141.359 billion, representing 13 per cent of mineral revenue, was allocated to oil-producing states as derivation.

Of the statutory revenue component, the Federal Government received N650.680 billion, states received N330.033 billion, and LGCs secured N254.442 billion, in addition to the derivation allocation.
