Enugu State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, has achieved a historic career milestone with his elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Dr. Udeh was named among 57 distinguished legal practitioners approved for elevation at the 169th plenary session of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) held on Monday, 22 July 2025. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who also heads the Committee.

The official swearing-in ceremony for the new Senior Advocates is scheduled for Monday, 29 September 2025, in Abuja, where the Chief Justice will formally confer the rank on the honorees.

Reacting to the news, a senior legal analyst in Enugu, Barr. Chukwudi Mbah, described Udeh’s elevation as “a deserved honour for a man who has shown exceptional brilliance, dedication, and leadership in the legal profession.”

Similarly, Mrs. Amaka Eze, a rights advocate based in Abuja, praised the appointment, saying, “Dr. Udeh’s track record of championing access to justice and legal reforms makes him a worthy recipient of the SAN title.
