Minor Fire Incident at Geometric Power Premises Promptly Contained
A fire outbreak occurred early this morning at a temporary building within the premises of Geometric Power, Nigeria’s leading integrated power company, located in the Osisioma Industrial Layout, Aba, Abia State. The affected structure was previously used by a defunct South African electricity firm, Group 5, during the construction of facilities at Geometric Power. It had remained largely unused for over 12 years.
Although the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, Geometric Power staff acted swiftly to contain the situation before the Abia State Fire Service arrived. The fire service, which responded promptly to the emergency call, reinforced efforts to ensure the flames were completely extinguished.
Commending the efforts of its staff, the management of Geometric Power stated, “We appreciate the vigilance and gallant efforts of our staff in containing the fire. Their swift action was instrumental in preventing any further damage.” The company also praised the Abia State Fire Service for its professionalism and rapid response, adding, “We are grateful to the fire service for their prompt intervention and efficiency in handling the situation.”
The company further acknowledged the concern and support of the public. “We sincerely appreciate members of the public for their concern and solidarity during this incident,” the management noted.
Reassuring customers of its commitment to service delivery, Geometric Power stated, “This incident does not affect our operations in any way.
