Abuja – Barrister Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, has recently come forward with crucial information. He claims to have received intelligence regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government’s intention to prepare for a potential rerun election. It appears that the APC is aware of the unfavorable political climate and seeks to regain ground.
In light of this revelation, the National Chairman urges the party’s vast membership of over 10 million individuals to remain vigilant and prepared. He emphasizes the importance of responding effectively to any attempts by the APC to manipulate the electoral process. Furthermore, he encourages party members to use the opportunity to further embarrass the APC government in future elections if their alleged malicious scheme comes to fruition.
During an online meeting on Monday, July 10th, Barrister Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, made an important announcement. The meeting was organized by the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy, led by Professor Eddie Oparaoji, who serves as the Labour Party Diaspora Chairman in the United States.
Abure expressed his concerns by stating, “There are rumors circulating that the government officials are already planning for a potential rerun. In light of this information, we seek your support on this matter. It is crucial that we also prepare ourselves, as those in government are actively readying themselves for a rerun. We cannot afford to be caught off guard.”
By addressing the attendees, Abure highlighted the necessity of staying informed and proactive to ensure the party’s success, despite the ongoing preparations by the government for a rerun.
“So we will be needing your engagement and support on this aspect if par adventure it happens today, that the election is nullified which is not what we are asking for, because we are asking for outright declaration of Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria.
“We believe strongly that we won that election given the statistics we have, given the result we have, we are not expecting anything less than the declaration of Peter Obi as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“But supposing that didn’t happened as the government is believed to be planning for a rerun it will not also be out of place for we to be preparing for a rerun election.
“Having said this by the side, I must say clearly that we have put all our evidences before the court we are very hopeful that the tribunal will act on our favour.
“And we are very hopeful that supposing the matter gets to the higher court, the Supreme Court, in this case, it will also act in our favour.
“We are keeping our hope and confidence alive.
“In 9 months we are able to change the political narratives of this country and we must build on that successes and so that we can have a more formidable party that we can strategically positioned fro the down trodden people of Nigeria.”
During the discussion, Ambassador Oseloka Obaze, the Director of the ObiDatti Presidential Campaign, emphasized the crucial role of ObiDatti members in the diaspora. He urged them to view the fight for the recovery of their mandate as a collective responsibility, one that should not be abandoned for any reason whatsoever.
Ambassador Obaze stressed the importance of unity and the need for every member to actively participate in the ongoing struggle. He highlighted that no one should overlook their duty in this endeavor, emphasizing the significance of their combined efforts in achieving the desired outcome. GMTNews
