After three and a half years of exemplary service to humanity, in her final act as the pioneer Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq officially relinquished her duties to the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo mni. NPOM.
The information was disclosed in a press release by Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the Special Assistant, Media, to the Honourable Minister.
At the close of the 1st Nigerian International Humanitarian Summit organized by the Ministry on Friday in Abuja, Umar Farouq presented two booklets documenting her service in the Ministry to the Permanent Secretary. She expressed her gratitude to the Ministry directors, staff, and those in her office for their unwavering support during her term as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
Umar Farouq encouraged the Ministry’s staff to stay resolute in their pursuit of accomplishing President Muhammadu Buhari’s aim to alleviate as many underprivileged individuals as possible from poverty.
“As the pioneer Minister of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development in the last three and a half years, I hereby present these documents of my stewardship. Thank you for your unwavering support as I hand over to the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani- Gwarzo.”
In response, the Permanent Secretary expressed gratitude to the outgoing Minister and wished her success in all her future pursuits. GMTNews
