The people of Abor in Udi LGA of Enugu State have protested against what they alleged as illegal and forceful grabbing of their lands, including their ancestral homes by land grabbing PDP Government of Enugu State.
Members of the community speaking while on peaceful public protest queried why they should be forcefully dispossesed of their land including farm and ancestral lands.
In a viral video, the people among other things queried what they did to warrant such treatment from the PDP led government of the state.
“What did (the) good people of (Abor) in Enugu State do to this land grabbing PDP Government in Enugu State?”
Similar question is said to agitate the minds of some other communities
across various Local Government Areas in Enugu State whose lands have allegedly been taken over by the same Government.
They expressed worry that if left unchallenged, the said land would in turn be shared, sold and used for personal estates for the government cronies, while the owners would be left in anguish.
Some of the placards bore inscriptions like, “Leave our land alone”, “Ngwuagu – Odunejeogu Abor protesting against 84 hectares land grab by people in power in Enugu State”. Among others.
They called on Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to come to their aid and save them from further anguish.
Attempts by our correspondent to reach the state’s commissioner for Lands, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, proved abortive as his phone number was not reachable. GMTNews
