President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the killing of prominent Islamic preacher, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka, and his friend, Adamu Abubakar, in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, directing security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The President’s reaction followed a drive-by shooting incident on Monday evening in which the two men were killed by gunmen.
In a statement issued by the State House, Tinubu described the killings as heinous, noting that the attack undermined the values of peace and respect for human life.
The President expressed deep sadness over the incident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, their followers, and the government and people of Katsina State.
Tinubu also directed the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to intensify ongoing efforts by the Katsina State Police Command to track down and apprehend those responsible for the killings.
He stressed the need for a thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The President further prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and for strength and comfort for their families and all those mourning their deaths.
The directive underscores the Federal Government’s call for security agencies to strengthen efforts to tackle violent crimes and ensure accountability for attacks on innocent citizens.
