Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun swears in Olayemi Sanusi and Adenike Ademokun, urging integrity, accountability and urgent delivery of public projects.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has sworn in two new commissioners, Olayemi Sanusi and Adenike Ademokun, charging them to prioritise the state’s interests and deliver tangible benefits to residents.
Abiodun gave the directive on Monday during their swearing-in ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The governor urged the new commissioners to uphold integrity, humility, fairness and dedication to public service, stressing the need for them to remain accessible to residents and responsive to their concerns.
He also warned them against wasteful management of public resources, insisting that their appointments must translate into measurable improvements in the lives of the people.
Abiodun emphasised the importance of continuity in governance, urging the commissioners to preserve institutional knowledge, maintain proper records and ensure the completion of ongoing projects and programmes.
He advised them to familiarise themselves with the administration’s priorities, assess the status of existing projects and bring fresh ideas, sound judgment and a strong sense of responsibility to their assignments.
The governor said public confidence depended on leaders understanding the needs of citizens and taking practical steps to address them.
Describing the period as the final lap of his administration, Abiodun said the remaining months required urgency, discipline, political maturity and a sustained commitment to excellence.
He noted that the new commissioners were joining an administration with achievements to consolidate and outstanding responsibilities to fulfil.
Abiodun also urged them to work collaboratively with other members of the State Executive Council and respect the professionalism of the civil service to ensure effective implementation of government policies.
Speaking on behalf of the commissioners, Ademokun thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in them.
She assured him that they would not take their appointments for granted and pledged their commitment to supporting the administration’s development agenda and efforts to improve residents’ welfare.
