Ahead of this Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State, a Pan Igbo group Nzuko Ndigbo, has asked pro Biafran agitators to hold the Igbo political leaders responsible for their travails before looking elsewhere to blame people of other regions and tribes as being responsible for their challenges.
The group appealed to agitators and the Igbo youth to give peace a chance.
The call was made which was made through group’s convener, Chuks Ibegbu, said the pro Biafran agitators should “ask some Igbo Governors what they do with the monthly allocations they receive from the centre, including their security votes”.
Ibegbu asked them to question Igbo legislators at the centre and in the states “what they do with their constituency allowances (allocations), not forgetting the LGA Chairmen, what they do with their monthly allocations”.
Chuks Ibegbu accused most Igbo political office holders of using the allocations meant for the people and the development of Igbo land to build hotels, housing estates, private Universities and other things, threatening to expose them soon.
“Let Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB, MASSOB and other pro Biafra groups ask relevant questions.
“Why would a Governor owe workers and pensioners for 30 months while receiving monthly allocations and Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.
“What do they do with funds that flow in from international bodies. These are questions I expect the agitators to ask our political leaders before we blame the Fulani, Yoruba, Hausa and outsiders for our failures.
“Let them x-ray what our own political leaders are doing to us before what fulani and others are doing.
Ibegbu however called on the Federal Government to drop all charges against Nnamdi Kanu and seek for a political solution.
“It is Nzuko Ndigbo’s considered opinion that the Federal Government should drop the charges against Nnamdi Kanu and seek resolution of the matters with him through a political solution.” GMTNews
