Tinubu-Vacation: President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a three-week annual vacation in Europe, with London as his first stop, the Presidency says.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for Europe to begin a three-week Tinubu-vacation as part of his annual leave, the Presidency announced on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s first destination is London, United Kingdom. The trip is described as a working vacation, during which the President is expected to take time away from his regular schedule while remaining engaged with official responsibilities.
Onanuga, in the statement dated August 30, 2026, said President Tinubu would spend three weeks on the annual leave before returning to Nigeria. The Presidency did not provide further details about other European destinations the President may visit during the Tinubu-vacation.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave,” Bayo Onanuga said, adding that London would be the President’s first stop. He further stated that President Tinubu is expected to return home after the working vacation.
Upon his return to Nigeria, President Tinubu is expected to join the intense political activities ahead of the January 2027 election, as preparations and campaigns gather momentum across the country.
