President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Borno Governor Babagana Zulum on his birthday, praising his reforms, people-centred leadership and contributions to development and national unity.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on his birthday, praising his people-centred leadership, reforms and contributions to the development of the state.
In a message celebrating the governor on August 25, President Tinubu described Zulum as an academic, visionary and reformist whose administration had contributed to strengthening stability and deepening development in Borno State.
The President commended Zulum’s investments in human capital and grassroots development, particularly projects such as rural healthcare facilities, schools and skills acquisition centres.
According to Tinubu, the Borno governor’s approach to governance reflects the rigour and discipline of his academic background, while his ability to mobilise people around shared objectives has helped advance development and promote national unity.
“Governor Zulum is one of the exceptional governors of this dispensation. He brought the rigour and discipline of academia into governance, introduced landmark reforms, and fostered development in Borno,” the President said.
Tinubu also thanked Zulum for his support and encouraged him to sustain what he described as exemplary leadership in the service of the people of Borno State and Nigeria.
“As he celebrates this birthday, I wish him more years of good health and renewed strength as he continues to serve Borno and the nation,” the President added.
Governor Zulum, a professor of agricultural engineering, became Governor of Borno State in May 2019 and was re-elected for a second term in 2023.
