President Bola Tinubu has urged Muslims celebrating Eid-El-Maulud to embrace the virtues of Prophet Muhammad, including devotion, tolerance, humility and selflessness.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the Eid-El-Maulud celebration, urging them to reflect on and embody the teachings and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President said the occasion should go beyond commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet to include introspection, prayer and a renewed commitment to the values he exemplified.
Tinubu urged Muslim faithful to make deliberate efforts to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, highlighting devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness as enduring lessons from his life.
“The Muslim faithful should make deliberate effort to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad,” the President said, noting that the Prophet’s life offered lessons that remain relevant to society.
The President also called on Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and encourage their followers to translate the lessons of the Prophet’s life into greater commitment to the country.
Tinubu urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud festival to extend kindness and support to people in need and vulnerable members of society, stressing the importance of compassion and solidarity during the celebration.
He further called for prayers against insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country.
The President wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and meaningful Eid-El-Maulud celebration, urging them to use the occasion to strengthen their faith, promote peaceful coexistence and contribute positively to national development.
