Nkanu West Council Chairman John Ogbodo has celebrated the energy and potential of youths in the area, commending Governor Peter Mbah for his commitment to youth development and empowerment.
The Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, has celebrated youths across the council on the occasion of International Youth Day, describing them as important partners in building the future of Nkanu West and Enugu State.
Ogbodo, in a goodwill message marking the celebration, said the energy, creativity, resilience and potential of young people remained critical to the development of society.
He noted that youths should not be viewed only as leaders of tomorrow but as active contributors to development in the present.
“The youths are not only the leaders of tomorrow; they are important partners in building the Nkanu West and Nigeria we desire today,” he said.
The council chairman particularly commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his commitment to youth development and empowerment.
According to Ogbodo, the state government’s continued support for youth-focused initiatives demonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of investing in young people.
He said empowering the youths would help create opportunities for them to develop their talents, pursue their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the state.
Ogbodo urged youths in Nkanu West to dream boldly, pursue excellence and deploy their talents toward making positive contributions to their communities.
He also assured young people that government at the local level would continue to support efforts aimed at creating an enabling environment for them to realise their potential.
“As leaders, we must continue to create an environment where your dreams can become reality,” he said.
The chairman called for sustained collaboration among government, communities and young people to empower the next generation and build a brighter future for Nkanu West.
He wished youths across the local government area a happy International Youth Day and encouraged them to remain committed to personal development and community service.
