Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have recovered stolen farm logistics in Kaduna, while a bloody turf war near the Rijana Dam left four major bandit kingpins dead.

Joint frontline troops deployed under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully recovered multiple operational motorcycles stolen from local farmers by fleeing terrorists in Kaduna State.

The asset recovery coincided with intercepted intelligence revealing that a bloody turf war between rival bandit factions led to the elimination of four high-profile bandit kingpins.

The developments were detailed in an official defense operational update released to journalists on Wednesday morning in Abuja.

According to the military command, the recovery operation was executed by troops of the 4 Demonstration Battalion operating out of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Kadage in the Giwa Local Government Area. The troops mobilized swiftly following actionable intelligence tracking a cache of logistics stolen during a violent assault on agrarian communities in Angwan Garke village on June 6, 2026.

The four recovered motorcycles were initially processed through the Nigeria Police Force division at Galadimawa before being secured by military authorities for immediate verification and onward return to their rightful civilian owners.

Security officials noted that seven terrorists were neutralized during the initial June 6 encounter, though fleeing members of the gang managed to evacuate their casualties before troops fully cleared the perimeter.

“Intelligence sources reported a violent clash between rival bandit groups around Rijana Dam in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State on June 8. Four bandit kingpins, including one identified as Laggu, were killed during the confrontation,” the operational brief stated.

The defense brief highlighted a significant fracture within the northwest terror architecture, detailing a violent confrontation between opposing criminal syndicates around the Rijana Dam axis in the Kachia Local Government Area.

The intense gun battle resulted in the immediate death of four top-tier bandit commanders, including a notorious kingpin identified simply as Laggu.

Several other fighters sustained critical gunshot wounds before the surviving remnants evacuated the bodies of their leaders for hurried burials at a local mosque network in Rijana.

High-level defense intelligence indicates that multi-agency security assets have drastically stepped up surveillance and reconnaissance flights over Kachia and surrounding border communities.

The heightened alert is aimed at preempting and neutralizing any spillover reprisal attacks between the fractured criminal factions that could threaten civilian safety.

Concurrently, defensive sweeps under Operation Savannah Shield and related border stabilization drills reported a calm, stable theater of operation with no hostile disruptions during the weekly review window.
