Vice President Kashim Shettima strongly advocates for total internal unity within the APC as Alhaji Mustapha Gubio emerges unopposed as the Borno State gubernatorial flagbearer.
Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday strongly urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and all relevant political stakeholders to work seamlessly toward the overall electoral victory of the party.
Shettima delivered this crucial advice in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, during the peaceful conduct of the APC governorship primary election, which officially produced Alhaji Mustapha Gubio as the party’s substantive flagbearer for the state. In his address to the delegates, the Vice President explicitly implored party faithful to prioritize absolute unity, bury long-standing political hatchets, and selflessly commit themselves to the overarching success of the APC across all levels of governance.
He stressed that a unified front is highly essential for party members to successfully move the nation forward under the transformative guidance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The Vice President further urged the gathering to view the successful affirmation of the new governorship flagbearer as a reflection of their collective resolve to field highly credible candidates capable of delivering sustainable socio-economic development to the state.
He explained that the democratic process in Borno is intrinsically connected to the broader, national prosperity agenda of President Tinubu, who remains deeply determined to secure a better future for all Nigerians.
Corroborating this stance, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum expressed his profound gratitude to all party stakeholders for their continuous support and mutual endorsements throughout the primary process.
Accepting the mantle, Gubio-who emerged victorious entirely unopposed-warmly promised to advance the developmental milestones of the state, pledging to lead the people with the fear of God and absolute dedication if formally elected during the slated 2027 governorship poll.
