President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after participating in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026.

The return was confirmed on Saturday in Abuja by the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.

President Tinubu attended the summit alongside members of his cabinet, engaging global leaders on sustainability, energy transition, and economic cooperation.

On the sidelines of the summit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates. The agreement is designed to deepen economic cooperation, boost bilateral trade and investment, and enhance technology transfer between both countries.

The partnership will also expand collaboration across strategic sectors, including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.

In his address at the summit, Tinubu announced that Nigeria and the UAE will jointly host INVESTOPIA in Lagos in February. The initiative is aimed at attracting global investors and accelerating sustainable investment inflows into Nigeria.

The president further disclosed that Nigeria is targeting the mobilisation of up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance to support energy transition reforms and expand nationwide access to electricity.
