Eastwing Aviation scholarship winner Favour Chinecherem Felix has received recognition from Enugu Assembly Speaker Uche Ugwu following her victory at the 2026 SASEYC 2.0 competition.
The Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, has congratulated Favour Chinecherem Felix, winner of the 2026 Southeast Aviation Summit/Eastwing Youth Competition (SASEYC 2.0), following a courtesy visit by the Eastwing team to his office in Enugu.
The visit, which took place on Monday, October 12, provided an opportunity to formally present the competition winner to the Speaker and highlight the initiative’s efforts to expose young people to training opportunities and career pathways in the aviation industry.
The delegation was accompanied by the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Hon. Monday Diamond Ani.
Speaking during the visit, Ani described Chinecherem’s achievement as a significant milestone for Enugu State and the South-East, noting that the competition had attracted young people seeking opportunities in the aviation sector.
“This is the first of its kind that has happened in the Southeast, and it is significant that an Enugu indigene emerged as the winner after going through a competition involving over 50 young people,” Ani said.
He called on the Enugu State Government and other stakeholders to provide greater support for the initiative to sustain and expand the opportunities available to young people interested in aviation.
Chinecherem, an indigene of Enugu State, emerged as the overall winner of SASEYC 2.0, securing a scholarship to study Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at Eastwing Aviation Institute. The competition’s grand finale was held in Enugu on October 3, 2026.

Receiving the delegation, Ugwu congratulated the winner and commended her hard work, dedication and passion for aviation.
The Speaker encouraged her to remain focused as she begins the next stage of her professional journey, describing her achievement as a positive development for Enugu State.
He also welcomed the initiative’s efforts to increase awareness of aviation careers and create opportunities for young people to acquire specialised skills.
During the visit, the Eastwing team explained that SASEYC was designed to go beyond a competitive event by connecting participants with aviation professionals, practical training and information about career opportunities across the industry.
The organisers said the programme seeks to bridge gaps in access to aviation education and professional development by identifying promising young people and providing pathways towards specialised training.
They added that continued collaboration with government institutions, private organisations and other stakeholders would be important to expanding the initiative’s impact.
The Eastwing team expressed appreciation to the Speaker for receiving the delegation and recognising Chinecherem’s achievement.
With the 2026 competition concluded, the organisers said their next priority was to ensure that the opportunities created through SASEYC translate into meaningful training, professional connections and sustainable career pathways for young people.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to encourage youth participation in aviation and help develop the specialised skills required across the industry.
