President Tinubu is set to return to Abuja after a six-day Lagos visit that included his Independence Day broadcast and other engagements.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to return to Abuja on Monday evening after a six-day visit to Lagos, the Presidency has announced.
Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, following his annual vacation in London and Paris.
During his stay in the former capital, the President addressed Nigerians on October 1 as part of activities marking the country’s 66th Independence Day anniversary.
Later that day, Tinubu attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary chronicling the life, political struggle and enduring legacy of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola and the historic June 12 pro-democracy struggle.
The premiere was held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos.
On Sunday, the President also paid a visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu, at his Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.
The visit provided an opportunity for the President to engage with the traditional ruler during his stay in Lagos.
The Presidency said Tinubu would depart Lagos for Abuja on Monday evening, bringing his six-day visit to the former seat of government to an end.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on October 5.
