BAMAKO, Mali — Nigeria and Mali have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations following the presentation of copies of the Letters of Credence by Nigeria’s Ambassador-Designate to Mali, Ambassador Geoffrey Ijomah David Chima.
The diplomatic ceremony took place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, when Ambassador Chima presented his credentials to Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, His Excellency Abdoulaye Diop, in Bamako.
Following the presentation, both officials held bilateral talks focused on expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest and enhancing relations between the two African nations.
The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of Nigeria and Mali to strengthen diplomatic consultation mechanisms aimed at promoting a more productive and mutually beneficial South-South partnership.
