The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has reported a profit after tax of ₦535 billion for June 2026, representing a 15.8 per cent increase from the ₦462 billion recorded in May.
The figures are contained in the company’s Monthly Financial and Operations Report for June 2026, released on Friday.
According to the report, NNPC generated total revenue of ₦4.389 trillion during the month, while cumulative statutory payments to the Federation from January to June 2026 rose to ₦6.286 trillion, highlighting the company’s continued contribution to national revenue generation.
The report showed that average crude oil and condensate production recorded a slight decline to 1.72 million barrels per day from 1.73 million barrels per day in May.
NNPC attributed the marginal drop in production to operational disruptions, facility integrity issues and subsurface challenges affecting several producing assets.
Despite the decline in crude output, the company recorded growth in natural gas production.
According to the report, average natural gas production increased from 7.774 million standard cubic feet per day in May to 7.841 million standard cubic feet per day in June, representing a 0.86 per cent increase.
The report noted that the improvement reflects the company’s continued progress in expanding gas production to support domestic energy supply and industrial development.
On key infrastructure projects, NNPC disclosed that the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline had reached 98 per cent completion, with final tie-in works currently underway ahead of the planned First Gas delivery in August 2026.
The company also reported significant progress on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline, which has now attained 94 per cent completion.
According to NNPC, the project remains on track to support the commencement of early gas delivery to Abuja later in 2026, reinforcing the Federal Government’s drive to expand gas infrastructure and improve energy access across the country.
