President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, following his election as Chairman of the African Association of Accountant-Generals during its Annual General Meeting in Eswatini.

In a formal presidential message issued on Friday, July 24, 2026, by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended warm congratulations to the Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, on his election as Chairman of the African Association of Accountant-Generals (AAAG).

Ogunjimi emerged victorious following a competitive election held during the association’s Annual General Meeting in the Kingdom of Eswatini, securing the leadership role over candidates from Tanzania and The Gambia.

President Tinubu described Ogunjimi’s election as a moment of national pride that highlights Nigeria’s leadership in public sector financial management and structural governance reforms.

Expressing full confidence in the newly elected Chairman, the President noted that Ogunjimi’s stewardship will deepen peer collaboration among member nations, accelerate capacity building, and advance transparent financial practices across the African continent.
