Following Thursday’s runway excursion involving an Enugu Air Embraer E170 aircraft operating Flight 4264 from Lagos to Benin Airport, Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has released an official statement emphasizing that passenger safety remains the foundational, non-negotiable priority of the state-owned airline.
Expressing profound gratitude to God that all 63 passengers and five crew members evacuated safely without any reported injuries, Governor Mbah commended the swift emergency response teams and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) for promptly initiating an independent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Reassuring the traveling public, Governor Mbah affirmed that Enugu Air operates under quality assurance and control systems that exceed standard industry benchmarks, ensuring that safety is continually prioritized above commercial schedules and profit margins.
