Afrobeats titan Davido names multi-industry mogul Rihanna as his ultimate dream collaborator, while lightheartedly lamenting that her highly profitable cosmetic empire keeps her away from the recording studio.

Nigerian Afrobeats icon Davido has named global pop sensation and business mogul Rihanna as his absolute dream international collaborator.

The chart-topping singer shared his musical aspirations during an engaging, casual live stream appearance on Twitch with popular host @Theboyfromojo, opening up about his desire to craft a cross-continental masterpiece with the Barbadian star.

While expressing immense admiration for her artistic style, the “I Know Who I Be” hitmaker candidly pointed out the massive logistical hurdle currently blocking the potential duet: Rihanna’s incredibly lucrative transition from the recording booth to the global corporate boardroom.

The singer noted that while a joint project between them would produce incredibly “dope music,” he harbors realistic doubts about it materializing anytime soon due to her deep focus on her multi-billion-dollar beauty and fashion empires.

Rihanna, whose last complete studio album Anti dropped a decade ago in 2016, has successfully channeled her creative energy into building a massive entrepreneurial legacy, primarily through her wildly successful brand, Fenty Beauty.

Davido acknowledged that her focus remains firmly fixed on managing her extensive business investments rather than returning to a heavy studio recording schedule, though he remains optimistic about her eventual return to the mic.

Despite the current lack of a formal studio track together, a strong foundation of mutual creative respect already exists between the two powerhouse vocalists.

Rihanna has previously been very vocal about her deep appreciation for the Nigerian singer’s extensive discography, famously identifying his infectious anthem “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys as her absolute favorite song and revealing that she had the track on a continuous playback loop.

Davido, deeply appreciative of the high-profile nod from the billionaire entrepreneur, playfully reacted by referring to her as “my Ri Ri” during his social media interactions.

If the long-sought linkup eventually happens, it will add to Davido’s star-studded portfolio of global collaborations, which already boasts monumental recordings alongside dominant international heavyweights like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, and DaBaby.
