President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on his birthday, praising his contributions to governance, infrastructure development and national service.

ABUJA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Lagos State Governor and former Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, on the occasion of his birthday, commending his outstanding contributions to governance, public service and national development.

In a goodwill message released on Sunday, President Tinubu described Fashola as an accomplished legal practitioner, exceptional administrator and patriotic Nigerian whose leadership has left a lasting impact on Lagos State and the country.

The President praised Fashola’s commitment to progressive governance, integrity in public office, intellectual excellence and dedication to nation-building.

Tinubu recalled with pride Fashola’s service as his Chief of Staff between 2003 and 2006, as well as his two-term tenure as Governor of Lagos State from 2007 to 2015.

According to the President, Fashola consolidated the gains of progressive governance through landmark reforms in infrastructure, transportation, security, education, healthcare, environmental management and public sector administration.

“Fashola’s commitment to excellence, which helped to transform Lagos into a model of innovation and sustainable urban development, will continue to signpost him as an outstanding governor and leader,” Tinubu said.

The President also commended Fashola’s service in the Federal Executive Council between 2015 and 2023, where he oversaw the strategic ministries of Works, Power and Housing.

Tinubu noted that Fashola’s stewardship in those ministries contributed significantly to the implementation of critical infrastructure projects and national development initiatives.

“As former Governor Fashola celebrates another year, I wish him well. I pray that Almighty Allah will grant him many more years in good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment as he continues to contribute to the growth, unity and prosperity of our nation,” the President added.

President Tinubu concluded by wishing the former governor continued good health, strength and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria.
