Felicitating the Muslim Ummah from Enugu, Governor Peter Mbah emphasizes that collective sacrifice and inter-faith tolerance are vital to navigating Nigeria’s current economic adjustments.
The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has extended his warm congratulations to the Muslim faithful within the state and across the country on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
In an official holiday goodwill message issued on Tuesday, the Governor made a passionate plea for national unity, inter-faith tolerance, mutual sacrifice, and renewed hope.
He also emphasized the importance of active charity, urging Nigerians from all walks of life to stand in solidarity with one another-especially by supporting the less privileged and vulnerable members of society during the public holidays.
Governor Mbah noted that the spiritual essence of the festival serves as a timeless reminder that meaningful sacrifice is the foundation of genuine service to God and humanity.
He explained that the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to obey divine instruction highlights the profound blessings found in patience, obedience, and unwavering faith.
The Governor observed that these spiritual values are particularly relevant today as citizens face the immediate challenges of the nation’s ongoing socioeconomic restructuring.
The Enugu State Chief Executive acknowledged that the country is currently going through demanding structural policy shifts, noting that these changes require a collective commitment to the common good. He argued that the success of these reforms depends on the citizens’ ability to prioritize national progress over political, ethnic, or religious divisions.
“On the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend warm felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Enugu State and across Nigeria as they commemorate this sacred festival of faith, sacrifice, and devotion to Almighty Allah. At a time when our nation continues to navigate important political and economic transitions, the significance of this celebration becomes even more profound. Let us be reminded that we all belong to one shared humanity,” Governor Mbah stated.
Governor Mbah concluded his address by urging all citizens to use the festive period to pray for the sustained peace, stability, and prosperity of Enugu State and the wider Nigerian federation.
He charged the people of the state to continue working together in harmony to build a prosperous regional economy defined by justice, equal opportunity, and shared progress, while wishing the entire Muslim Ummah a joyous and peaceful Sallah celebration.
