Abuja, Nigeria – Wike PDP Forms have stirred fresh reactions after a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, fixed its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at ₦51 million, while governorship aspirants are to pay ₦21 million ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The pricing structure was announced by the faction’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, in an election timetable released on Wednesday, outlining key activities leading up to the primaries.
According to the schedule, the sale of forms will begin on April 27 and close on May 4, while the submission deadline for completed forms is May 9. Screening for State Assembly, National Assembly, and governorship aspirants is slated for May 11, with presidential aspirants to be screened a day later, on May 12.
A breakdown of the Wike PDP Forms shows that the expression of interest form across all categories is fixed at ₦1 million. Nomination fees, however, vary by office: State House of Assembly aspirants are to pay ₦2 million, House of Representatives ₦3 million, Senate ₦5 million, governorship ₦20 million, and presidential hopefuls ₦50 million—bringing the total costs to ₦21 million and ₦51 million respectively.

The timetable further shows that the presidential primary election will hold on May 18, while governorship primaries are scheduled for May 27. House of Representatives primaries are set for May 21, Senate primaries for May 23, and State Assembly primaries will take place between May 21 and May 24. All appeals arising from the exercises are expected to be concluded by May 30, 2026.
In a notable concession, Bature stated that female aspirants will only be required to pay the ₦1 million expression of interest fee, waiving the nomination fee component of the Wike PDP Forms.
The development comes against the backdrop of a lingering leadership crisis within the PDP, which has split the party into rival factions. One bloc is led by Kabiru Turaki and is backed by Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed, while the opposing faction is led by Abdulrahman Mohammed and enjoys the support of Wike.
Several court cases arising from the internal dispute remain unresolved, casting uncertainty over the party’s cohesion and readiness for the 2027 elections.
