President Bola Tinubu renews the appointment of Professor Idris Bugaje as Executive Secretary of NBTE for a second five-year term.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed the appointment of Idris Muhammad Bugaje as Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for a second and final term of five years.
Professor Bugaje was first appointed on March 14, 2021, for an initial five-year tenure. The renewal followed a review of his performance, leadership record and reforms recorded in the technical and vocational education and training sub-sector.
The presidency said the board recorded significant progress under Bugaje’s leadership, particularly in repositioning and strengthening Nigeria’s technical and vocational education and training ecosystem.
Other achievements cited include comprehensive curriculum modernisation and the development and review of about 100 national curricula aligned with global skills demands.
The President urged the NBTE Executive Secretary to use the second term to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete critical initiatives already underway in the sector.
