President Bola Tinubu congratulates FRCN on its 75th anniversary, praising its role in national development, broadcasting excellence and public communication.

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the management and staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) on the organisation’s 75th anniversary.

The president also extended greetings to the Minister, management and staff of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, as well as other sister agencies of the FRCN, on the milestone.

Tinubu described the corporation as a dynamic and influential institution, noting its central role in Nigeria’s broadcasting landscape and beyond as Africa’s largest broadcast network with 47 FM stations and six zonal stations.

He highlighted the organisation’s contributions to development communication, saying the FRCN has served as a reliable platform linking leaders, governments and citizens for more than seven decades.

According to the president, the broadcast institution has functioned as a two-way medium for information, education and entertainment across the country.

Tinubu also noted that the FRCN has documented Nigeria’s history from the colonial era through post-colonial transitions, maintaining archives that continue to serve as valuable references for leaders, students and scholars.

The president further commended the organisation for nurturing broadcasting talent and providing training opportunities for broadcasters, producers and sound engineers across the continent.

As the corporation marks its 75th anniversary, Tinubu urged the organisation to continue fulfilling its core mandate in line with its slogan, “Uplifting the People and Uniting the Nation.
