A 15-year-old student shot a teacher at a Texas high school before dying, authorities confirmed, as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The shooting occurred Monday at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, located in Comal County, Texas. Officials said no other injuries were reported.

Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds said the student shot the teacher before turning the weapon on himself. Authorities are currently investigating the relationship between the student and the teacher, as well as how the firearm was obtained.

School officials announced that classes would be canceled on Tuesday following the incident.

Principal Julie Wiley said counselors would be made available to students and families to provide support in the aftermath.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to gather details surrounding the incident.
