Flight operations between India and Dubai were disrupted after Air India cancelled all services following a drone strike reported near Dubai International Airport.
Indian carriers Air India and Air India Express have cancelled all flights to and from Dubai after a reported drone strike near Dubai International Airport.
The decision was announced on Monday following the temporary suspension of flight operations at the airport after the incident reportedly triggered a fire near the facility.
Air India said the cancellations were necessary due to the operational shutdown at Dubai International Airport.
According to the airline, passengers affected by the disruption would be allowed to reschedule their flights for a later date or cancel their bookings and receive a full refund.
The airline did not immediately provide details on when normal flight operations to Dubai would resume.
Despite the suspension of Dubai flights, Air India Express said some regional operations would continue.
The airline confirmed that its ad hoc flight services to and from other cities in the United Arab Emirates would proceed as scheduled.
These include routes to Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah.
The drone strike near Dubai airport has heightened security concerns in the region and prompted precautionary measures by airlines.
Authorities have yet to release detailed information regarding the source of the drone or the extent of the damage caused by the incident.
Industry observers say disruptions in major aviation hubs like Dubai could affect travel schedules across the Middle East and international routes.
