President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians and members of the Armed Forces that the country will ultimately prevail against insecurity.

The President gave the assurance on Friday during an interfaith breaking of fast with members of the Nigerian Armed Forces at the Presidential Villa.

Tinubu praised the courage, professionalism and dedication of the country’s servicemen and women, noting that many soldiers remain far from their families while confronting threats from bandits and terrorists.

“I commend your courage, sacrifice and professionalism as you put your lives on the line in defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens,” the President said.

He assured the military that their sacrifices would never be forgotten and that the nation remains grateful for their service.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of officers and soldiers serving on the frontlines.

According to him, the Federal Government will continue to invest in modern equipment, intelligence systems and logistics to strengthen the operational capacity of the armed forces.

He added that the security forces have made significant progress in weakening terrorist and bandit groups across the country.

Tinubu also thanked Nigerians for their patience and resilience amid ongoing economic reforms.

He expressed optimism that the country was beginning to emerge from economic challenges.

“All the sacrifices are not in vain. We are now out of the dark tunnel,” the President said.

The President also extended his sympathy to the government and people of Borno State over the recent terrorist attack in the state.

Earlier, the Chief of Defence Staff, Oluwafemi Oluyode, represented by the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, commended the President for policies aimed at improving the welfare and efficiency of the armed forces.

He specifically thanked the President for approving the upward review of salaries and allowances for military personnel, including members of the Brigade of Guards.

According to him, the approvals also cover procurement of modern equipment and improved accommodation for service members, measures that are expected to boost morale and operational effectiveness.
