No fewer than 28 ships laden with petroleum products and other commodities are expected to arrive at Apapa, Tin-Can Island, and Lekki Deep Sea Ports in Lagos between February 10 and February 19, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said.

The NPA disclosed this in its latest publication, “Shipping Position,” on Tuesday in Lagos.

According to the authority, 16 of the incoming ships are carrying containers with assorted goods, while the remaining 12 vessels are laden with crude oil, petrol, diesel, bulk wheat, bulk gypsum, bulk gas, blended stock, raw crude oil and general cargo.

The document further revealed that 10 ships and tanker vessels had already arrived at the ports and were awaiting berthing. These vessels are conveying crude oil, bulk urea, diesel, condensate, petrol, containers and general cargo.

The NPA also noted that 15 ships are currently discharging various consignments at the Lagos ports, including general cargo, bulk gypsum, containers, bulk fertilizer, bulk sugar, diesel and crude oil.

The steady inflow of vessels, the authority said, reflects sustained port activities and continued cargo throughput across Nigeria’s busiest maritime hubs.
