No fewer than 41 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other essential goods are expected to arrive at major Lagos ports, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has disclosed.

The authority made this known in its Shipping Position publication, a copy of which was made available to newsmen on Friday in Lagos.

According to the NPA, the vessels are scheduled to arrive at the Apapa Port, Tin-Can Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port between January 2 and January 5, 2025.

The document revealed that the incoming ships are carrying a wide range of cargoes, including condensate, crude oil, aviation fuel, diesel, petrol, bulk salt, bulk bitumen, wall pallets, general cargo, bulk soya beans, fresh fish and containerised goods.

The NPA also noted that 10 ships and tanker vessels have already arrived at the three ports and are currently awaiting berthing.

These vessels are reported to be conveying products such as diesel, crude oil, aviation fuel, bulk urea, fresh fish, crude palm olein, general cargo, containers and bulk sugar.

The anticipated influx of ships is expected to boost port activities and improve the supply of petroleum products and food items into the country.
