Naira Rebounds, Gains N1.65 Against Dollar at Official Market

The Naira closed the trading week on a stronger note on Friday, gaining N1.65 against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
According to data published on the official website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Naira exchanged at N1,454.41 to the dollar, representing a 0.11 per cent appreciation compared to Thursday’s closing rate of N1,456.06.
The local currency had opened the week with mild depreciation and recorded marginal losses during the week. On Wednesday, the Naira traded at N1,455.38 at the official market.
CBN data further showed that the Naira exchanged at N1,451.86 on Monday before weakening slightly to N1,454.38 on Tuesday.
Despite the weeklong fluctuations, the Friday gain reflects a modest rebound in the Naira’s performance at the official market.
