2026 FIFA World Cup: Tinubu Congratulates Super Eagles, Urges Team to Keep Hope Alive

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their emphatic 4–0 victory over the Cheetahs of Benin Republic, commending the players for reigniting national pride and keeping the country’s hope alive in the race to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a statement issued from the State House, President Tinubu said the Super Eagles’ performance in Uyo reflected “hunger, passion, and determination” as they continue their campaign for a place at the global football tournament to be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
