The Kano State Government has declared Friday, September 12, 2025, a public holiday to mark the Maulud celebration, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
According to the official statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the holiday coincides with 19th Rabi’ul Awwal 1447 AH in the Islamic calendar.
Waiya urged civil servants, private sector workers, and the general public to use the holiday to deepen their commitment to peace, unity, and tolerance in line with the Prophet’s teachings.
He further encouraged residents of Kano State to reflect on values of obedience, compassion, and mutual respect while also offering prayers for the peace, stability, and progress of Nigeria.
The Kano State Government extended warm felicitations to all Muslims across the state, wishing them a peaceful and spiritually uplifting Maulud celebration. GMTNewsng
