The Commissioner of Police in Jigawa, Mr Dahiru Muhammad has promised to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, enhance community partnership and engagement for effective service delivery.
Muhammad who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Dutse on Wednesday, also pledged to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in discharging his duty.
The CP promised to intensify intelligence gathering, adopt proactive strategies, and promote respect for human rights.
He said, to achieve this, immediately after assuming office in July, he convened a strategic conference with the command’s management team, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments, and other senior officers.
“Upon my assumption of duty, I made a firm commitment to uphold the core values of the NPF under the visionary leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
“I pledged to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, enhance community partnership and engagement, intensify intelligence gathering, adopt proactive strategies, and promote respect for human rights.
“At that meeting, I intimated to them on the three visions and policing strategies that would define our operational goals,” he said.
The CP listed the vision and strategies as proactive policing to create public confidence and trust in the police, diligent investigation and prosecution to ensure fair and prompt dispensation of justice, and community policing to address crime through intelligence gathering.
“I’m pleased to report that the officers and attendance demonstrated their commitment to the implementation of these strategies in their respective areas of responsibility, thus, yielding positive outcomes,” he said.
