The Labour Party (LP) has expressed serious concerns regarding a revelation surrounding the Certified True Copies (CTC) of a recent judgment issued by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC). In a surprising turn of events, the CTC displayed the header “Tinubu Presidential Legal Team” (TPLT), leading to a wave of controversy and confusion among Nigerians.

Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, voiced the party’s distress over the delayed release of the judgment and the subsequent discovery of the TPLT imprint. “The public is equally at pains trying to comprehend what is happening,” Ifoh stated. The party calls for clarity and transparency from both the PEPC and the TPLT in order to address the growing controversy.

In a move to dismiss claims made by a senior counsel representing the Tinubu Legal Team that the header was a watermark, Ifoh emphasized that a watermark is a distinct and faint design visible when a paper is held up to the light, serving as a means to verify authenticity. He stressed that the senior counsel should provide solid evidence to support their claims rather than shifting blame onto innocent parties.

Highlighting the significance of the case and its impact on the nation, Ifoh underscored the urgency of resolving the controversy surrounding the judgment’s imprint. “Ensuring fairness and impartiality in the judiciary process is paramount,” he stated. The Labour Party demands transparency and investigation to dispel any notions of favoritism or irregularities, in order to maintain public trust in the legal system.

Eager to bring greater transparency to the situation, the Labour Party has called upon the PEPC and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to disclose the origin and true significance of the judgment’s overall imprint. Nigerians are left demanding swift answers and the right to be fully informed about this matter.

As the controversy unfolds, the Labour Party remains committed to upholding transparency and accountability within Nigeria’s political landscape, affirming its dedication to the public’s right to know. GMTNews
