The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal based in Abuja has officially scheduled Wednesday, September 6, 2023, as the day when it will deliver its judgment on the petitions challenging President Bola Tinubu’s electoral victory in the February 25th presidential election.
This confirmation was provided by the Chief Registrar of the Court during a press briefing on Monday.
Prior to this announcement, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal merged the petitions submitted by various political parties and their respective candidates. They also issued a pre-hearing report on the petitions, along with a trial schedule.
Furthermore, the tribunal made the decision to reserve its judgment on the petitions filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to announce the verdicts simultaneously with that of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) on the same day.
