Ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, a frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Distinguished Prof. Bart Nnaji, who was recently presented with guber nomination forms by a coalition of groups and friends, have assured the people and residents of Enugu state of industrialization of the state through provision of reliable electricity if elected governor in 2023.
Prof. Nnaji who stated this in Abuja Friday, April 15, 2022 while interacting with newsmen, after he submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms at PDP National Secretariat, Wadata House, said it was possible to repeat the feat, his firm, Geometric Power achieved in Aba Abia State, in Enugu to revolutionize establishment of industries in the state. He said there was no law in Nigeria that prohibits states from investing in power generation, and or distribution citing that such have worked in Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
Furthermore, he noted that there is abundant gas deposit at Ugwuoba in Oji River LGA of the state and that this will be exploited for an embedded power for Enugu State.
Prof. Nnaji who applauded the efforts of the incumbent Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for creating and maintaining a pathway for peace, said Ugwuanyi is the leader of the PDP in the state and whoever he supports to become the governor must work extra hard to build on the well laid peace foundation.
