Every great nation became great because of their great men. In recent times, great men are defined by their antecedents both locally and internationally.
A man is defined by his ability to succeed where others failed, his dogged attitude to face challenges and still smile, his ability to be humble even in times of peaked ovation.
Also great men are known for their willingness to fight for and help the weak, plan for the future by creating harmonious and peaceful environment that will grow their visions.
Enugu state is the headquarters of Ndi Igbo. Igbo tribe is one of the most respected tribes in the world and therefore should not have their “Headquarter State” managed by mediocres come 2023.
Can Ndi Enugu afford to relinquish the status of the igbo man headquarter to other southeast state? If I feel the pulse of my fellow 042 then the answer is NO.
Building on what we have on ground already, Enugu needs to be coalcity again, the serene city where roads are tarred gutter to gutter. The state where every street is clean and shining. The capital city with 24hour electricity, the neighborhood with security where everybody is his brothers keeper. The city where the business man in onitsha, Lagos or Abuja wish to have a home.
We want our Enugu back but we can only get our old coalcity if we choose and vote right.
The man, Prof Bart Nnaji has unique characteristics. He is not too ambitious, neither is he a mediocre. He challenged Western sterotyping and succeeded. He always succeed where others are failing. He broke the jinx with Nigeria power sector and the difference became clear.
Can we afford to miss his touch to further develope and transform Enugu?
Ndi Enugu this is our litmus test. This is our opportunity to hand a new Enugu state to our children and generations to come. Anambra has decided, Ndi Enugu it is our turn. Remember that the decision you make today will affect every aspect of your life tomorrow.
Thank you Prof Bart Nnaji for accepting to serve, we will not disappoint you.
